Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS A PEDICAB?

A Pedicab is a 3-wheeled cycle designed to transport passengers.  It's also sometimes called a rickshaw.  Some pedicabs have motors, but at Cap'n John Pedicabs we only use climate-friendly people power.  It may be slow, but hey, you're on vacation, right?

WHERE CAN WE GO?

Pedicabs can go anywhere in the Newport city limits with the exceptions of a few busier streets.  We can't go all the way to Easton's Beach but can get you to within a stone's throw! Also great for picking you up at the end of the world famous Cliff Walk!

HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL A PEDICAB HOLD?

Pedicabs may carry up to 3 adult passengers, or a family of 2 adults with children.  No riding on the back or asking us to let you pedal, please!

WHAT TYPE OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

Cap'n John Pedicabs accepts cash, credit cards (via Square) and Venmo for fares and tips.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TIP?

It really is up to you, but suggested amounts might be a few dollars for a short ride, $10 for a medium ride and maybe $20 for a long or hard (uphill!) ride.
